Their mind is free of all tensions and daily stress and void of any pre occupied thoughts. Such a relaxed and empty state of mind allows the hypnotic therapeutic to have a look and reveal the deeper inner sight and emotions of the person. This can also include some suppressed past troubled memories or instances, some fears or thoughts, which have adverse effects on the person’s behaviour and lifestyle. The calmness and relaxed state of the subject’s mind and body is quiet similar to that when we are in deep and sound sleep.

For a hypnosis session to be successful, there are three pre-requisites. First being an experienced and skilled hypnosis therapeutic, second being a subject or patient, and the willingness of the subject to be hypnotised without which the process cannot take place. For the person to be hypnotised, he or she needs to be mentally prepared and fully willing to be hypnotised. To make the subject feel comfortable, relaxed and to let go of all the tension and pre-occupied thoughts, the therapeutic often initialize the session with light hearted and casual discussion like about the occupation of the subject or the kind of childhood the subject had.

This therapy is a drug free and pain free therapy which is not only utilised in behaviour modifications but also in a series of situations and medical procedures like child birth, surgeries, psychotherapy to treat hysteria, insomnia and many more. It is also a very affective way to make a person stop smoking. When a subject approaches a therapeutic to quit smoking, the therapeutic explains him or her all the negative effects of smoking and supports your decision. This therapy is not a sure shot guarantee that the subject will quit smoking all together, but after the first session, he or she will feel a strong desire to move away from the addiction.
