Healthy Aging: Taking Care of Your Heart (local hypnosis specialist)

By Paul Strachocki

As we age, our risk of developing heart disease, high cholesterol levels, weak joints and muscles, and host of other medical condition goes up. Most of the people who become ill feel frustrated and have feelings of despair. Many of these people may have said at one point in their lives something along the lines of, “It’s not going to happen to me.” But that’s just setting themselves up later in life. Because “it” — diseases, illnesses, tragedies — can happen to anyone. This is why it is important that we take steps to prevent illnesses while we are still young.

Health experts say that the number of people with heart disease is on an upward trend, and millions of Americans are developing heart disease, strokes, and other cardiovascular diseases. What can we do so our heart remains healthy as we age?

We all can benefit from regular exercise. Studies have shown that physical exertion can benefit the heart greatly. Regular exercise not only can strengthen your heart, muscles, and joints, it can also strengthen your immune system so your body is less susceptible to infections, diseases and illnesses. Exercise has also been found to be an effective stress relief and even help people who are depressed.

Stress is among the leading causes of heart attacks and strokes, so it is important for anyone to learn how to cope with stress. When stress becomes too unbearable, it can lead to depression, or worse, a heart attack or a stroke. So if you are feeling stressed, anxious, or depressed, pick yourself up and exercise. Instead of sitting around moping or stressing out, go for a run, bike ride or even a brisk walk. It can do wonders for your heart and your overall health.

Along with regular exercise, you need to follow a healthy, well-balanced diet. What you put in your body can significantly affect your physical and emotional health. Look at how you are eating right now. Can you honestly say you are making the right food choices? How much healthy foods do you include in your meals, or do you not eat healthy at all? Eating unhealthy foods such as highly processed products, foods high in sugar, and foods high in fat will eventually take its toll on your body, if it hasn’t yet. The more poorly you eat, the greater your chances of developing diseases like diabetes, high cholesterol and heart disease.

You can start eating healthily today and save your heart later on. Cut back on your consumption of fatty foods. Lower your salt intake because salt has been found to cause high cholesterol levels. Avoid eating foods that can clog your arteries. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as legumes. As much as possible, avoid frying your foods, and if you must, use heart-friendly oils like olive oil and canola oil.

Another key to long life and a healthy heart is following a healthy lifestyle. Aside from exercising regularly and subscribing to a healthy diet, your body, especially your heart, can benefit from positive lifestyle changes. If you smoke, quit the habit. If you drink alcohol, cut it out of your lifestyle. If you are constantly finding yourself under a lot of stress, determine the exact source of your stress and eliminate it as much as possible. Perhaps you have a high-stress job. If quitting your job is not an option, find ways with which you can effectively deal with the stresses it constantly gives you.

After years of neglect, I found that my health had suffered. My website, contains the result of my journey back towards health.

The Importance of Taking Antioxidant Supplements

By Paul Strachocki

Antioxidants play a key role in helping you attain a healthier life. Although you can get antioxidants from your diet since there are a number of foods that contain antioxidants, the best way to get them into your system is by taking antioxidant supplements. These antioxidant supplements are from natural sources so you can be sure they will not cause any damage to your physical health.

Whether you get your antioxidants from foods or through supplements, you can look forward to great health benefits, foremost of which is cell protection. Antioxidants help the body fight off diseases by protecting the cells from possible damage. Vitamin deficiency slows down the bodys ability to recover from diseases or injuries simply because the cells are unable to regenerate or repair themselves. Based on studies, it has been observed that there is a marked difference in the recovery rate of individuals who have sufficient vitamins and antioxidants in their body.

Antioxidants can be taken as herbal supplements or in their natural form from foods. Either way, you can derive great benefits in terms of disease prevention, improved blood circulation, restoration of libido, and enhanced overall physical health. An important aspect of healthful living is proper diet and nutrition. Thus, make it a part of your lifestyle. Make sure to eat healthy foods to maintain your good health. Try to cut back on your consumption of highly processed foods, as well as those that are high in sugar and saturated fat.

For health maintenance purposes, it is best to use non-synthetic supplements. They have better absorption qualities and are easily taken by the body so they can do their work immediately and yield fast results. Since they are derived from natural sources, non-synthetic supplements are healthier, safer and free from side effects. On the other hand, synthetic supplements require a comparably longer time for the body to break them down, absorb and put into use. Results are also not immediate.

There is one thing to bear in mind always: although your health regimen includes vitamins and antioxidant supplements, your diet choices should still be limited to the healthier and nutritious kinds. Choose your food according to their vitamins and mineral content and the health benefits you can get from them. You may take oral supplements for vitamins and antioxidants if your current diet is deficient of these nutrients.

The importance of eating the right foods and taking the necessary antioxidant supplements cannot be stressed enough. Any deficiency in vitamins and antioxidants will put you at risk for diseases and other detrimental effects to your health. Know that many of the more common diseases can be prevented by the right intake of antioxidants and other nutrients. Give the utmost priority to your diet, which should be complete and healthy. Make it a point to eat only nutritious and wholesome foods and you will be taking in all the vitamins and antioxidants that you need. Eat right and observe a healthy lifestyle.

After years of neglect, I found that my health had suffered. My website, contains the result of my journey back towards health.

Hypnosis Phobia Treatment For Fear Of Flying

By Alan Barrett Densky, CH

If you’ve ever felt scared of flying on an airplane, you are not alone. The fear of flying, known as Aerophobia, is amongst the most common fears that people experience. This phobia is often a devastating, overwhelming feeling. It can even prevent you from using air travel; traveling significant distances, or seeing friends and family. Beating such a fear used to take long years of counseling, but now there are hypnotherapy and NLP techniques to beat phobias for faster, life-enhancing results.

Do you wonder exactly what a phobia is? Phobias are categorized as a form of anxiety disorder, and many people who have them can have anxiety attacks and other undesirable symptoms such as dizziness, physical illness, or a pounding heart. Several people complain of feeling nauseous or losing their ability to control themselves, and organize their lives around their phobia in an effort to avoid their fears.

For those with a fear of flying, even the simple thought of getting on a plane can cause symptoms of an anxiety attack. Other people may feel only slightly uneasy while the plane is grounded, but grow hysterical once the plane takes off.

Picture a scenario in which a woman suffering from Aerophobia is sitting on an airplane before departure. She starts to feel worried and her heart begins to race. She knows flying is safe, but she is scared nonetheless. Once the airplane is off the ground, she is powerless to do anything but cry uncontrollably, and continues to weep throughout the trip until she is able to get off the airplane. Although it may sound extreme, this type of response is shared by a very high number of people.

Phobias are distinguished by intense, irrational fear. People with Aerophobia are afraid of flying although they realize that flying is really a very safe form of transportation. They may feel humiliated when they react by crying, shaking, or having an anxiety attack, but feel powerless to restrain their behavior. For sufferers, this fear of humiliation is as daunting as the phobia itself.

In reality, people with phobias cannot control their behavior because their anxieties are rooted at an unconscious level, which no amount of conscious effort or willpower can help. This is where hypnotic therapy comes into play. Ericksonian hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques operate at the unconscious level of the mind to effectively treat phobias.

A good hypnosis therapy program for treating a phobia has several comprehensive steps. The initial step uses hypnotherapy for relaxation, dispelling worries and anxieties. Once you feel stress-free and relaxed, hypnosis forms new thoughts in the unconscious mind to eliminate the fear. NLP itself treats fears by specifically pinpointing the single thought process that causes a phobia.

Unlike traditional hypnosis, which utilizes direct post-hypnotic suggestions, Ericksonian hypnosis therapy uses indirect suggestions in conversation to persuade the unconscious to adopt a new, more logical train of thought. It works better than traditional hypnosis because people typically reject simple post-hypnotic hints, but find it harder to resist indirect suggestions that are concealed in engaging metaphors and stories.

The exact phrasing of post-hypnotic suggestions in conventional hypnotherapy means that many conventional hypnosis programs will only work for a single phobia. A notable feature of an Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP program is that it isn’t specific to a single phobia and will treat any phobia, in anyone. It will work for most people because the system is composed of several different hypnotherapy techniques assembled for maximum effectiveness.

The most useful fear busting NLP technique that I have used is known as the Visual - Kinesthetic Disassociation. The V/K is often called the “one session phobia cure,” and with excellent reason!

The combined Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP program is ideal for an independent thinker who wants to quickly beat an irrational fear once and for all. Users can follow the step-by-step program at their own personal pace, but are usually surprised at the ease with which they complete the program and overcome their phobia. The results people see with hypnotherapy often appear simply miraculous.

Hypnotherapy and NLP are amazing tools for many struggling with fear. Ericksonian hypnotic therapy and NLP have helped countless people overcome their fears. The techniques are perfect for helping individuals who are scared of air travel to experience air travel and all of its benefits. For years, hypnosis has been able to change lives all over the globe, and eliminating phobias is just one of many ways in which it changes lives.

Alan B. Densky, CH has been treating irrational fears using NLP since 1978. He offers phobia treatment hypnosis and NLP CDs plus a broad range of Hypnosis CDs for stress & depression related symptoms. Visit his website for free hypnotism downloads.
