(Hypnotists) Conversational Hypnosis - Solving Problems Using Conversational Hypnosis
By Chris Jensen
Conversational hypnosis can be used to cure these and other mental disorders, and is not difficult to implement. There are three steps to take when performing conversational hypnosis.
Establishing a rapport to establish a strong rapport with the subject, focus on finding something to talk about that both you and the subject can relate to. For example, talk about weather, upcoming holidays, or events. This will allow a certain level of comfort, and have a positive impact on the success of your hypnosis session. The best way to build rapport is to imagine yourself floating, and then entering the subject’s body.
Next, attempt to understand what he or she is thinking, feeling, and wanting. Imagine that you are this person and that you are experiencing the things that he or she is experiencing. This empathetic approach will allow you to build stronger rapport. When you can empathize with the subject and agree with them, you are in the right place. Don’t judge, just agree and give positive feedback. Breaking the Pattern
The second step in conversational hypnosis is to interrupt the subject’s current thought pattern. Try asking questions to open his or her mind, like, “what if you could do something else for a living?”. This will allow him or her to think of alternate possibilities. Ideally the subject should be thinking of more positive things than he or she was before.
The opposite can also be effective. You can ask the subject to think of a specific solution to a problem, causing him or her to focus on something other than what they were already focusing on. Sometimes the subject will even solve his or her own crisis during this process! Making a Suggestion.
The final step in the process of conversational hypnosis is to propose a suggestion that sheds a positive light on the subjects situation. For example, you could say, “Awesome, now you look like a person who can do anything they put their mind to.” This will let him or her realize that confronting an issue is a positive thing, and hiding from it is negative. This is when there should be a “light bulb” going off for the subject.
To wrap up, there are three steps to follow when performing conversational hypnosis. These include establishing rapport, interrupting the pattern, and making a suggestion. Enjoy putting these techniques to work in your practice, and you can control the conversation at will.
